After School Program

ASPA is offered each day after school until 5:00 pm at 110 South Third Street in Watseka. The program offers a nutritious and healthy after-school snack followed by a variety of activities. Activities are non-academic and focus on enrichment, creativity, and recreation. Children engage in arts and crafts, technology, dramatic play, games, music and story time.

Statement of Need

After recognizing the changing needs of the Watseka community, the Watseka Park District began offering the After School Project Adventure (ASPA) Program in November 2008. This program was designed and implemented to provide comprehensive child supervision for its attendees.

Program Overview

ASPA is offered each day after school until 5:00 pm at 110 South Third Street in Watseka. The program operates in accordance with the school’s calendar year. ASPA is not available if school is not in session.

Available to children in kindergarten through 5th grade.

Activities

The program offers a nutritious and healthy after-school snack followed by a variety of activities. Activities are non-academic and focus on enrichment, creativity and recreation. Children engage in arts and crafts, technology, dramatic play, games, music and story time.

Transportation

The children are transported by the Unit 9 Bus Transportation system to the park district building.

Parents/guardians are responsible for providing transportation home at the end of the day (i.e., 5:00 pm). Children will be released only to those parties listed on the release form. Proof of identification is required.

Tuition

Tuition may be paid weekly, biweekly or monthly; but must be paid on the same timeline for the program duration.

Cost:

  • Fee per child attending Monday through Friday: $40.00/week
  • Fee per child attending three days per week: $20.00/week
  • Fee per child on a drop-in basis: $9.00/day
